I had interviewed Sarah Hannah on my show Poet to Poet http://poettopoetwritertowriter.blogspot.com and she read for me at the Newton Free Library Series. I had worked at McLean Hospital at the time--and she told me she wanted to read there--because her next book from Tupelo dealt with her mom's mental illness. When I tried to contact her about a reading gig with the Manic depressive Assoc. at McLean --I had found out she killed herself--- what a damn shame---lovely woman...Doug Holder

Horrible loss. I know the family well. It is surprising that he would be alone without his bodyguards (whom he never travelled without), especially south of the border. Wealthy Tijuana families are often targets of intimidation and kidnappings. The innocent are always the ones who suffer first. R.I.P.

Gee...that will make it EASY for the Hardy boys to join a rock band in subsequent editions, eh? (a true story) This doesn't scare anyone else?
As a person with a library degree, there is a reason books stay the same.
Because they should. They're books.

I've been using the nuva ring for over three years. I love it and wouldn't use anything else. To answer Lisa's question, as long as you start your new ring within 1 week of taking the old one out, you can have sexual intercourse at anytime. During the 21 days that the ring is in, just make sure not to remove the ring for more than 3 hours.

I'm glad to hear that Monistat does not affect the nuva ring. I was wondering about that.

What struck me about the experience was the unwelcoming quality of the greeting as we entered the library. I don't care what a library policy is as much as I care how it's conveyed to me. There was a lost opportunity to win over another user. As a casual visitor, being scolded upon entering a building was rather startling.

Imho, rather than meetings and email exchanges and whatnots, I recommend the library send out some anonymous visitors into its libraries at different times... have them bend the rules a little and see how they're treated. See how they're welcomed. See how they are invited into the library's story.

"Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares." I ain't no angel... but it's still good policy.
