Absolutely, I too am really looking forward to the collision between the Don Drapers and The New. And I share your view of the show: I find I am not too interested in their personal lives (except for the excellent production design and wardrobe), but fascinated by the workings of mid-century advertising, which created the world I grew up in (nee 1963). And that "the youth" reacted against, creating the other world I grew up in. Both worlds fully inflected and motivated by images and metaphor, if not, perhaps, limited to advertising per se. If I could say one thing to the show's writers, it would be this: more meetings! Less soap opera!
